SALARY: £17,364 pa (£9.00/hour) pro rata

We often have a vacancy for a Midday Supervisor at Swanland Primary School (part of Swanland Education Trust); this may be working one or two days a week or all five days of the week, term-time only.
The role involves supervising the children at lunchtimes, both on the playground and in the classrooms if it is raining, making sure the children are playing safely and monitoring lunchtimes in the dinner hall, including some basic cleaning/wiping of tables. Some experience of working with children would be desirable but not essential. Uniform and basic health and safety training will be provided.

Vacancy: Part-Time Catering Assistant
A vacancy has arisen for a part-time Catering Assistant at Swanland Primary School to help with the day-to-day running and operation of the school kitchen; the position is both busy and varied.
Hours of work: 13.75 hours per week as follows: Mon to Fri – 11.00 am to 1.45 pm (2 hours 45 mins per day)
Days: Mon to Fri (term-time only plus 4 days)
Salary: £17,364 pa pro rata (£9.00/hour)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Purpose of the Job:
To prepare and serve food and drink to children and adults within the school, maintaining excellent safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards. (Please be aware, this is a physical role involving standing, bending and lifting and applicants will need to be physically able to cope with these duties.)
Working with and under the direction of the Cook, as part of a team of six, the postholder would be required to:
- Prepare and serve food in accordance with the requirements of good practice in hygiene, food and nutritional standards for schools and Health and Safety legislation
- Assist in the maintenance of stock control and ordering systems
- Help prepare the dining area for lunch and clear afterwards (lifting of catering equipment, benches and tables etc and sweeping floor)
- Ensure cleanliness of catering, service and eating areas
- Maintain good customer relations
- Aim to ensure best value in all aspects of the role
- Carry out any other duties/responsibilities appropriate to the grade/level of responsibility of the post.
