Welcome to Year Four!
Your teachers this year are Mrs Russell (4MR) and Mrs Carney (4KC).
Mrs Russell, Mrs Carney, Mrs Anderson and Mrs Parkin welcome you to the Year 4 page. The other additonal adults we have in Year 4 are: Mrs Martin, who teaches French, Mrs Brown, Mrs Firth and Mrs Parkinson.
Mrs Anderson and Mrs Parkin support children in both Year 4 classes. Mrs Anderson also teachers Art in both Year 4 classes, which is alternated with French on Thursday mornings.
During the children's time in Year 4, they will be given the opportunity to take part in many challenging, engaging, exciting lessons and activities, ranging from sports and drama to working as part of a school community.
Our main topics, which we look forward to in the first term are Light and Shadow, Europe and the Vikings.
During the Spring term, our main topics will be States of Matter, Electricity, The Water Cycle and The Weather.
During these Science and Geograpy topics, the children will take part in a range of practical activities to extend their learning. These include designing and making their own torch, collecting data on the weather and a water cycle experiment.
In the final term, our topics will be Living Things, Teeth and Digestion, Maps Skills, Erosion and the Suffragettes. Some of the activities that support these topics will include investigations into how to care for our teeth and learning and understanding about the processes involved in passing a law at the Houses of Parliament.
