Swanland Football Team Midland Regional Champions!
We are very proud to announce that our Swanland football team won the English Schools’ Football Association Midland Regional Final held at Nottingham on 18th March 2017, representing Humberside and competing against ten other counties!
The first tournament of the season was the South Hunsley Tournament, which we won. This was the platform to the next level, the East Riding Tournament. Having successfully won the East Riding tournament, the team progressed to the Humberside Tournament. Once again the team were successful. We went on to represent Humberside in the English Schools’ Football Association Midland Regional Final. The tournament included teams from 11 counties. Having played all their group matches, coming top of their league, they went through to the semi-final. The semi-final was played against Short Wood Primary from Shropshire. Following a hard fought match the team won and progressed to the final.
The final was played against Hagley School, Worcestershire. After a tense goalless first half, the players regrouped and commenced the second half with renewed energy. Following fine play, we scored and held our lead until the final whistle! Swanland School will now enter the National Final later in the term. This achievement has come from playing over 30 matches and only letting 1 goal in! Congratulations to a very successful team!

Sport News – Cross Country Years 3 to 6
Having won the South Hunsley and East Riding cross country events, three of our teams went through to the Humberside Schools Primary Cross Country Championships. Competing against the best runners in Humberside, our teams did very well. The Year 3 and 4 girl’s and 3 and 4 boy’s teams both came second in their competitions. The Year 5 and 6 boys came 4th in their competition. A fantastic achievement for all our runners! Well done! Karen Green - PE/Sports Co-ordinator.
