What is SEND?
SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. At Swanland Education Trust this includes children who:
- have a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of the same age; or
- have a disability which prevents or hinders them from making use of educational facilities.
All children at Swanland Education Trust with SEND will be provided with opportunities to ensure that their education is personalised to their learning so that they can make the best progress whilst being included in the life of the school.
Stages of SEN
The three stages of SEND in our school are:
- SEN support
- SEN support plus
- Statement/Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
