Class 4

Welcome to Class 4's own website page. 

Miss Oxtoby, Mrs Barton, Mr Lowe, Mrs Shephardson, Miss Dawson and all the children welcome you to our class page.

We look forward to a very successful, challenging but importantly fun year in Class 4!

This term our topic will be Extreme Environments. This will be mainly a Geogrpahy based topic alongside History and Art. The children will study the four key extreme environments and learn all about people, climates and animals of these varied places.

This term we will be learning about the following:

*Literacy – Haiku poems, newspaper reports, documentary commentary

*Numeracy – fractions as well as daily CLIC sessions

*Topic - Extreme Environments (History, Geography, Art)

*Science - Properties and changes of materials

*RE – Hopes and visions

*PE – Invasion games and tag rugby

*PHSE - Making sensible decisions - who decides?

*Music - Linked to Bob Dylan's 'You make me feel you love'

William Wilberforce

As part of their recent topics, Class 4 visited the William Wilberforce in Hull. The children have been learning about slavery and the abolition of slavery this term so visited the museum to discover the impact of William Wilberforce abolition campaign. As you can see from the pictures the children really enjoyed the day trip. 

Maths Day

On the 2nd February, the whole school dressed as anything number related.  Throughout the week, we worked with other classes and undertook different problem solving investigations. Here are the pictures of Class 3 and 4 undertaking a smartie investigation.

Robin Hood - Image Theatre

We had our annual visit from Image Theatre and this time they performed Robin Hood.  All of the children were able to take part - either acting or singing.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the performance!
